Morisset Fabrics and Crafts is a long-established fabric and craft store based in Morisset, offering a wide range of sewing, dressmaking, quilting, knitting, crochet, and embroidery supplies. Our store brings together quality fabrics, trusted brands, and practical services under one roof, supporting customers across every stage of their creative journey. From everyday sewing essentials to specialist patchwork fabrics and embroidery threads, we focus on providing variety, consistency, and in-store expertise for crafters and experienced makers alike.

Our Story
Morisset Fabrics and Crafts has been part of the local community for many years. The business originally operated from a small fibro house and was known locally as Shirley’s, although it was always officially registered as Morisset Fabrics and Crafts.
The Barnes Family purchased the business around 2000. While Robyn wanted the business, Harold wanted the land, and together this led to the construction of a purpose-built building, which was completed in 2009. This new space allowed the store to expand both its product range and services.
Around ten years ago, the current owner Danielle took over the business. Since then, Morisset Fabrics and Crafts has undergone a significant transformation. What was once a cluttered, museum-style shop has been reshaped into an organised creative space, with an increased number of brands and stock lines now available. Over time, the focus has been on improving layout, expanding product variety, and building a store that better serves the needs of today’s makers.
In-Store Services
Alongside our product ranges, we provide several in-store services for customer convenience.
Sewing machines can be left with us for repair and servicing, with machines collected by an external repairer and returned once completed. The service cost is $120, with an approximate two-week turnaround.
Classes & Creative Learning
Morisset Fabrics and Crafts also offers regular classes for customers wanting to build skills or enjoy crafting in a supportive environment. These include knitting, smocking, crochet, patchwork, and dressmaking sessions held throughout the week.
Class times vary by activity, and availability can change, so we recommend contacting the store directly for current schedules.
Knitting Classes
Knitting classes are held Mondays from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Smocking
Smocking runs on the first Monday of each month from 1pm to 4pm.
Crochet Classes
Crochet classes take place Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm.
Patchwork Classes
Patchwork classes are held Wednesday mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm and Fridays from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1pm to 4pm.
Dressmaking Classes
Dressmaking classes run Thursdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm and again from 1pm to 4pm.

Our store stocks an extensive range of quality products for crafters, makers, and experienced sewists alike. From everyday sewing supplies through to specialist quilting fabrics and embroidery threads, we offer a broad selection under one roof, with carefully chosen brands and suppliers.
Haberdashery
We stock a large range of haberdashery including hand needles, pins, bag accessories, patches, and menders, along with sewing machine needles, scissors, and premium Japanese scissors. Our thread selection includes Gütermann, Rasant, and Mettler.
Dressmaking
For dressmaking, we carry around 300 rolls of fabric including cottons, linens, polyester, elastane spandex, bamboo, viscose, poplin, rayon, lawn, and flannelette. We also stock the full range of Simplicity Patterns, making it easy to find designs for garments and creative projects.
Patchwork & Quilting
Our patchwork and quilting department features over 1,000 bolts of 100% cotton fabric and 65 backing fabrics, sourced from a wide variety of trusted suppliers. You’ll also find over 1,000 tubes of buttons, plus a large collection of lace, ribbons, and braids.
Wool
In our wool section, we stock all colours in Fiddlesticks Superb 8 and Superb 4, along with Superb Big, Tweed, Prints, and Fibra Natura. Additional ranges include Sierra, Crypto, Cleckheaton Country, Cotton Blends, and Big Baby. A dedicated wall of knitting needles, crochet hooks, and accessories completes the collection.
Embroidery & Cross Stitch
For embroidery and cross stitch, we carry the full range of DMC six-stranded cottons and tapestry wool on spinners, Devonstone Sashiko panels, DMC Perle 8, Create Handmade threads, Zweigart and Aida cross stitch
cloth, tapestries, and both printed and
counted cross stitch kits.
